The kingdom of the Netherlands covered the requirements of military vehicles by using the products of foreign manufacturers. The Ford assembly work in Amsterdam supplied larger quantities of passenger cars and lorries. Additionally, vehicles of Chevrolet and Diamond T were acquired. Partially, these vehicles originated from the Belgian assembly works of Ford and General Motors. The Dutch company DAF converted special military vehicles based on commercial vehicles of other manufacturers. After the invasion of the Netherlands in 1940, the Wehrmacht took over all useful equipment. The Ford work in Amsterdam delivered large quantities of motor vehicles to the Wehrmacht during occupation time.
