Die Compagnie des Automobiles Industriels Latil wurde von Georges Latil im Jahr 1914 in Suresnes (Seine) gegründet. Es wurden ausschließlich Nutzfahrzeuge hergestellt. Bekannt wurde Latil durch seine Heereszugmaschinen mit Allradantrieb und Allradlenkung. Viele Fahrzeuge wurden 1940 von der deutschen Wehrmacht übernommen.
