Oldsmobile

The American car manufacturer Oldsmobile was founded by Ransom Eli Olds in 1897. In 1908, the company was taken over by General Motors. Oldsmobile manufactured roomy passenger cars in the 1930s. Only individual exemplars were taken over by the Wehrmacht. Less known is the fact that Oldsmobile made commercial vehicles, too. From 1936 to 1940, these were made exclusively for export for example to South-Africa, Australie, Great Britain and the Netherlands. They were based on Chevrolet and GMC parts but had Oldsmobile engines and company logos.
