The Protos-Automobile GmbH was founded by Dr. Alfred Sternberg in 1898. Already in 1904, it was taken over by Siemens-Schuckert. During the 1920s, Siemens-Schuckert gradually lost its interest in automobile manufacture, so Protos was sold to NAG at the end of the year 1926. Besides passenger cars, commercial vehicles up to a payload of 3.5 tons were made.
