The BMW 315 was manufactured from 1934 to 1937. Altogether 9,765 exemplars were made. There were different limousines and cabriolets. BMW 303 manufactured early in 1934 were identical, outwardly. They only differed by the used engines.
This BMW 315 cabriolet belonged to a unit of the Luftwaffe. There were also some Kübelwagen based on the 1934 model of the BMW 315.
Outwardly, the 1935 model of the BMW 315 was identical to the BMW 309 model 1935. This changed in 1936. The ventilation louvres of the BMW 315 were replaced by ventilation gratings in the typical design on the 1936/37 model.
