The model series Unic S 50 / S 55 / Z 50 for a payload of 4.25 to 4.8 tons was manufactured from 1938 to 1940. The S models were propelled by a four-cylinder petrol engine with a capacity of 4,561 ccm while the Z 50 was propelled by a 4,942 ccm Dainmler-Benz four-cylinder diesel engine.

The type series was offered with different wheelbases (B = short, N = normal, L = long) and as short distance traffic lorry (M) or as long distance traffic lorry (V).

The illustrated vehicle of the Wehrmacht was modified with a wood gas producer device. In addition, Unic manufactured vehicles with wood gas drive by itself. These were designated model G (Gazo).
