In contrast to the regular equipped units, the Kfz. Abschleppkommando (Behelf) with civilian equipment had so called Schleppachsen - trailing axles - in place of the Sd. Ah. 14.
In this photo one can see such a Schleppachse in service. With the aid of the Schleppachse, a vehicle could be lifted under the front axle and than could be moved.
