Panzerbergeanker als Anhänger (1 achs.) (Sd. Ah. 40)
The Panzerbergeanker als Anhänger (1 achs.) - tank recovery anchor as one-axle trailer - (Sd. Ah. 40) was most probably developed in relation to the Bergepanzerwagen III (Sd. Kfz. 144) beginning late in 1943. With the Panzerbergeanker, a large pulling force could be archieved even on soft ground. (Image from D 659/4)
After releasing the disable and blocking the wheels, the Panzerbergeanker was moved forward into position. It was dug in by pulling force. On this picture, the Panzerbergeanker can be seen in dug in position. (Image from D 659/4)
