The Krankenwagen - ambulance - (Sf. 2) replaced the Krankenwagen (Sf. 1), which was introduced in 1938, beginning in 1939 (A.H.M. 1939, Blatt 7 from 30th March 1939, No. 244). The illustrated photo was made on the eastern front in autumn 1941.
The wagon was made of steel and had pneumatic tyres. A small water barrel was stored on the left side of the superstructure. Note the chimney of the installed oven. The photo was made in Cholm in May 1942.
Four couching, two couching and four seating or eight seating invalids resp. wounded could be transported with the Krankenwagen (Sf. 2).
