The SPA TM 40 was developed as medium wheeled tractor for artillery and anti aircraft guns starting in 1938. Serial production was running from 1941 to 1945. The TM 40 had a payload of 1,285 kg, all wheel drive and a six-cylinder diesel engine with an output of ca. 110 HP. In 1944, 153 vehicles of this type were manufactured for the Wehrmacht. The illustrated vehicle was photographed in Serbia in late 1943.
