The Thornycroft Sturdy had a payload of 4 to 5 tons. It was manufactured from about 1936 to 1945. The illustrated tank lorry is most probably a Thornycroft Sturdy of the years of construction around 1939. It was captured by a unit of the Wehrmacht in 1940.
