VOMAG Type 6 LR 648 / 650 / 653

About 500 exemplars of the VOMAG type 6 LR were manufactured from 1935 to 1938. It was propelled by a 140 HP diesel engine and it had a payload of 6.5 tons. The serial model (type 653) had a wheelbase of 5.3 meters. Probably only the prototype or the first series (type 650) had a wheelbase of 5.0 meters.

The side plates of the engine bonnet were rectangular contrary to the angular side plates of the VOMAG 5 LR and the older VOMAG 5 Cz six-cylinder model. Both vehicles had the older radiator grille.

The noticeable short wheelbase of this vehicle indicates a dumper chassis. Therefore, this vehicle is a VOMAG 6 LR 648. The new radiator grille, which can be seen on the illustrated vehicle. was introduced in 1937 or 1938.
