The slightly modernised variant L 5 N 162 was made untill 1935. Beginning in 1933, it was offered with a three-cylinder Junkers diesel engine designated as LD 5 N 132 and beginning in 1934 with a four-cylinder Junkers diesel engine designated as LD 5 N 142. Normally, the vehicles propelled by a diesel engine are identifiable by the Junkers angel on the radiator grille. Because this mascot could be missing on the illustrated vehicle, it could be either an L 5 N 162 or an LD 5 N 132/142.
