The Fernsprechkraftwagen - telephone motor vehicle - (Kfz. 23) had three doors on each side. A marshalling panel for telephone connections was fixed in the centre of the vehicle. The illustrated vehicle belonged to Artillerie Regiment (mot) 4 of 14. Panzer Division.

This is a further Kfz. 23 but this time based on a Type 40 chassis. The additional doors were dropped. It seems that the vehicles corresponded to the standard Mannschaftskraftwagen (Kfz. 70) and were only adapted to the designated usage by adding additional equipment. Note the camouflage finish on the base colour dark-yellow which was common beginning in 1943.
