The various Meßstellen- und Gerätekraftwagen - measuring-point and equipment motor vehicles - which were initially listed under the Kfz. numbers 63 and 64, were taken together to the Meßstellen- und Gerätekraftwagen (Kfz. 63) when the l. gl. Lkw. was introduced.

Typical for the Meßstellen- und Gerätekraftwagen (Kfz. 63) was the noticeable lengthened rear with equipment compartment. The Kfz. 63 were exclusively used by the observation batteries and battalions of the artillery.
