The Daimler DR 4-5d replaced the various Daimler DR 4, 4 1/2 and 5 models beginning in 1917. It was made until 1926. In this time, the power was increased from 45 to 55 HP. According to the superstructure, the Daimler DR 4-5d had a payload of 4 to 5 tons. The Reichswehr procured some of these lorries with Werkstattkraftwagen - workshop motor vehicle - (Kfz. 51) superstructure. These vehicles were used until the mid 1930s.
