Merely 1,440 exemplars, according to other DB statistics only 1,244, of the Mercedes-Benz L 5000 lorry with a payload of 5 tons were manufactured from 1932 to 1937. This Mercedes-Benz L 5000 was used by a unit of the Luftwaffe. The camouflage finish of the Reichswehr and the extended footboard points to a vehicle made especially for the army.
