The Mercedes-Benz type L 10000 was the largest lorry of the Daimler Benz AG of its time. Only 95 exemplars were manufactured from 1935 to 1939. The illustrated vehicle belonged to Kraftwagen Transport-Abteilung z.b.V. 979.

The impressive vehicle had a length of more than 10 m. Presumably, the Wehrmacht had only single exemplars of this type. This Mercedes-Benz type L 10000 of the Luftwaffe had a driver’s cabin for long distance traffic. The photo was made in Ludwigsburg.

The 12.5 litres, beginning in 1938 11.2 litres, diesel engine had an output of 150 HP. It consumed 42 litres of diesel fuel per 100 km.
