The Mercedes-Benz type L 1 resp. N 1 (low chassis) for 1.5 to 1.75 tons payload was manufactured beginning in 1927. Without visible changes, it was renamed to L 2000 in 1930. Only the payload was increased to 2 tons. Besides busses, platform lorries, and lorries with box bodies were also made based on the N 1 chassis. The illustrated Mercedes-Benz type L 1 was made around 1929.
