About 7,500 exemplars of the Mercedes Benz type 290 and 290 lang were manufactured. The illustrated vehicle is a Mercedes-Benz type 290 cabriolet D which was made from 1933 to 1936.

The Mercedes-Benz type 290 lang (long) was manufactured from 1934 to 1937. This one was photographed in Orleans. Most probably, it was the vehicle of the commander of a Luftwaffe battalion.
