From 1936 to 1942, the heavy all-wheel driven Büssing-NAG type 654 was made. The vehicle was propelled by a 135/145 HP diesel engine and had a payload of 5.75 to 6.25 tons. The Wehrmacht tested at least one vehicle as tank transporter for the Panzerkampfwagen I. This vehicle had a cable winch behind the driver’s cab and removable ramps. If the Wehrmacht had procured more than one exemplar of this tank transporter variant is unknown.
