BMW R 12

Standard motorcycle of the Wehrmach of the 750 ccm class was the BMW R 12. It was manufactured from 1935 to 1942. The machine in the photo – which was photographed in Großröhrsdorf in 1937 – was a rarely seen BMW R 12 as solo motorcycle.

The standard sidecar combination of the Wehrmacht was the BMW R 12. This type proved very well except the missing cross-country mobility. The machines had to bear heavy strains - especially on the east front – which can be seen in the illustrated photo of a BMW R 12 of an unknown unit of the Luftwaffe.
