The prototype of the Renault AHS for a payload of 2 tons was presented in December 1939. It was developed as replacement for the Renault AGC for the French war production. Anyhow, serial production could not be started in 1940.
About 23,000 exemplars of this type were made as Lastkraftwagen 2t Renault AHS for the Wehrmacht from 1941 to 1944.
This Renault AHS was photographed in Kiev at Pentecost in the year 1942. The original radiator grille was missing on this vehicle. It was replaced with a part from another lorry. A Tatra T 110 tank trailer is barely visible in the left background.
