FAR mobile workshop

Large, mobile workshops based on the Chenard & Walcker FAR system were developed shortly before the beginning of World War II. The tractor could be used separately. The trailer units could be used as workshops or as warehouses, for example.

On this photo one can see the front side of the same vehicle. The FAR indication is clearly visible. The 9. Infantry Division had at least two of these vehicles. The photos were taken in Angoulême in 1940.

 

 

 

 

 

FAR_Tank_Sattelzug_&_Caterpillar_Twenty_Two

 

 

There werealso  tank semi-trailer units based on the FAR system. If these vehicles also originated from the French army could not be clarified so far. The crawler-tractor in the foreground is an American Caterpillar Twenty Two.
