William Ragheno founded the Etablissements Ragheno in Brussels for the production of railway material in 1851. Later, the company shifted to Mechelen. Commencing in 1899 it was operated under the name Société anonyme des usines Ragheno. Omnibuses based on chassis of different manufacturers were made commencing in the 1930s. Later, own constructed chassis were also used.
