The Société Anonyme Brossel Frères was founded by the three brothers Paul, Louis and Henri Brossel in 1928, but the roots of the company goes back to the foundation of a car workshop in 1912. Lorries of the Swiss company Arbenz were marked beginning in 1919. After Arbenz had to stop production, the production plant was taken over. Beginning around 1924, own developed lorries were offered. In 1931, Brossel took over the company Bovy and in 1932 the company Pipe. The brand name Brossel was used for vehicles from 3 to 15 tons whereas the lighter vehicles were offered under the brand name Bovy-Pipe. In 1937, Brossel offered lorries from 4 to 10 tons payload, wheeled tractors and omnibuses all with either diesel or petrol engines.
