In the regulation of the OKW from 13th December 1943, passenger cars were classified in fife engine size classes. It seems that this regulation was implemented only in parts, because in later published K.St.N. passenger cars were still classified in the three classes light, medium and heavy. The Opel Admiral  was a typical schwerer Personenkraftwagen - heavy passenger car.

In rare cases, schwere Personenkraftwagen with wood gas drive were assigned. Such vehicles got the addition (Gen.) which stood for Generatorantrieb - generator drive. Two of such vehicles were scheduled with K.St.N. No. 97 from 1st September 1944 and one with K.St.N. No. 1008 likewise from 1st September 1944.
