The Kraftfahrspritze 8 - motorised fire pump 8 - (KS 8), which was designated leichtes Lösch- gruppenfahrzeug - light group fire fighting vehicle - (LLG) by the Feuerschutzpolizei, was made beginning in 1940. Basically, a Tragkraftspritzenanhänger (Tgsa. 8 resp. TSA) belonged to the KS 8. At first, the chassis of the Mercedes-Benz L 1500 F was used. From 1941 to 1944, the KS 8 was made based on the chassis of the Mercedes-Benz L 1500 S Ausführung F. In 1943, the KS 8 resp. LLG was renamed to Löschfahrzeug 8 - fire engine 8 - (LF 8) by the RLM.
