Minenräumwagen B I (Sd. Kfz. 300) & Minenräumwagen B II (Sd. Kfz. 300)

The Minenräumwagen B I - mine cleaning vehicle I - (Sd. Kfz. 300) was developed by Borgward begining in 1939. The vehicle had a track drive assembly with three road wheels, a hull made of concrete and was radio remote controled.

|
It was used for towing a trailer with three rollers for mine clearingn. From January to May 1940, 50 Minenräumwagen B I were made.
|

|
|
|
|
|
|
|
100 vehicles of the successor moel B II were made beginning in July 1940. These vehicles were a bit larger and had a track drive assembly with four road wheels.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
In addition, Borgward received a contract from the Heereswaffenamt for the development of a floatable version of the B II. The running gear had road wheels without openings and the body was made of sheet steel instead of concret. Three vehicles were manufactured which saw action during the Daugava crossing un July 1941.
