The leichter Scheinwerferkraftwagen II - light searchlight motor vehicle II - (Kfz. 83), abbreviated l. Scheinw. Kw. II (Kfz. 83), with the chassis of the l. gl. Lkw. (o) - light cross-country lorry (commercial) - had a crew of five including the driver. It was used as towing vehicle for the 60 cm Flak-Scheinwerfer 36 - 60 cm searchlight 36 - of a leichten Flakbatterie (2 cm) - light anti aircraft battery. (Image from D 600)

Later, the  l. Scheinw. Kw. II (Kfz. 83) was also made based on the Einheitsfahrgestell II für s. Pkw. - standard chassis II for heavy passenger car. Four of these vehicles were assigned to the Scheinwerferstaffel - searchlight squad - of the leichten Flakbatterie (2 cm) - light anti aircraft battery. (Image from D 600)
