After the introduction of the Einheitsfahrgestell für l. Lkw. - standard chassis for light lorry, the different variants of the Kfz. 63 and 64, which could only be proven based on the chassis of the Mercedes-Benz G 3 a, were replaced by the Meßstellen- und Gerätkraftwagen - measuring point and equipment motor vehicle - (Kfz. 63), abbreviated Meßst. u. Ger. Kw. (Kfz. 63).

Typical for the Meßstellen- und Gerätekraftwagen (Kfz. 63) mit Einheitsfahrgestell für l. Lkw. was the noticeable lengthened rear with equipment compartment. The Kfz. 63 were exclusively used by the observation batteries and battalions of the artillery.
