The Flammenwerfer-Füllwagen - flamethrower charging wagon - (Pf. 21) was officially introduced in 1938. It was used for re-charging flame throwers. In this case, it was a leichter Flammenwerfer - light flame thrower. The photo was made at Pionier Bataillon 17 of 17. Infanterie Division.

With the Flammenwerfer-Füllwagen (Pf. 21) (a),  a toolbox (b), a 10 litres steel bottle with compressed nitrogen gas (c), ten 1 litre steel bottles with compressed hydrogen gas (d) and ten 10 litres metal containers with flame-oil (e) could be transported by the crew. The stock was enough for ten chargings of the leichter Flammenwefer or three chargings of the mittlerer Flammenwerfer. (Image from D 546)
