Civilian sledges were generally designated by the Wehrmacht as Panjeschlitten regardless of the size or construction. To carry larger loads, the Lastschlitten, zweispännig - load-sledge, two-horse - was used in Russia. Most often, it had a simple superstructure made of wood so that loose loads could be carried, too.
