The Panjewagen Pleskau 1 - rural wagon - was developed based on Eastern European rural wagons as cheap alternative to the Heeresfeldwagen and Ersatzfeldwagen. Most probably it was introduced in 1943. Contrary to the Panjewagen Pleskau 2 it was towed by one horse. The wagon in the background of the illustrated photo is most probably such a Panjewagen Pleskau 1 but modified with much higher side walls.
