The schwere Protze 18 für Bespannung - heavy limber 18 for horse towing - was used for towing the 15 cm schwere Feldhaubitze 18 and the schwere 10 cm Kanone 18 by horses. The schwere Protze 18 für Bespannung was officially introduced with the A.H.M. 1935, Blatt 13 from 7th June 1935.

In this photo one can see the s. Pr. 18 (Bespg.) together with the gun-carriage of a 15 cm s. FH. 18 or a 10 cm s. K. 18. These horse drawn vehicles could be towed by motor vehicles up to a speed of 15 km/h.
