Beobachtungswagen (Af. 12)

Equipment which was needed to make an artillery battery ready was transported with the Beobachtungswagen – observation wagon – (Af. 12). The Af. 12 consisted of a Atf. 12 as Vorderwagen – anterior wagon – and a Atf. 12 as Hinterwagen – rear wagon.

The Af. 12 had a crew of six to seven men. In most cases, it was towed by six horses. The Af. 12 was introduced in the mid 1930s. The upper photo was made during a presentation in Königsbrück, Saxony, the vehicle on the lower photo belonged to 290. Infanterie Division and was photographed on the eastern front.
