The company Studebaker was founded in 1852. In 1868, the company was reorganised to the Studebaker Brother's Manufacturing Company. Beginning in 1897, motor vehicles were manufactured. In 1911, the designation of the company was changed to Studebaker Corporation. Beside passenger cars the company manufacture lorries. Before World War II, the French army procured several hundred Studebaker K 25 lorries. More than 190,000 exemplars of the three-axle Studebaker US6 were manufactured. More than 150,000 exemplars of them were supplied to the Soviet Union.
