|
The Packard Motor Car Company was founded by James Ward in 1903. Mainly large, luxurious, high-quality, conservative cars were manufactured. A technical speciality was the long holding to row eight-cylinder engines, while all other manufacturers had already changed over to V8 engines. Some references points out, that some Packard’s have been assembled in Poland. In 1942, the production of passenger cars was stopped. During the war, engines for aircrafts and torpedo boats were manufactured in large numbers.
