In 1940, the French army got 5 of these three axle Autocar lorries as tank transporters’ from Spain. This Autocar had French markings but it had a German crew, which was busy by collecting war materials from the battlefields.
Probably this is the same type of Autocar three axle lorry, although detail differences exist. Probably it was of civilian origin or the new German owners had attached own modifications. The photo was taken in July 1941.
