Altogether 1,798 exemplars of the Komintern were manufactured from 1934 to 1940. This tracked-tractor was a military development for the use as towing vehicle for heavy artillery guns. It had a drawbar pull of 14 tons and a payload of 2 tons. With its petrol engine with a power of 131 HP it could reach a top speed of 30 km/h. Captured vehicles were designated Artillerieschlepper Kom 604 (r) by the Wehrmacht.
