The GAZ-AA for a payload of 1.5 tons was manufactured from 1932 to 1938. The GAZ-MM with stronger engine ws made from 1938 to 1947. Starting late in 1941, the GAZ-MM was made with simplified mudguards and a driver’s cab with folding top. Despite the ancient technology, the GAZ lorries were very reliably under the conditions of the east front. Thousand of GAZ lorries were captured and used by the Wehrmacht.
