The Fabbrica Automobili Isotta Fraschini Milano was founded in 1899. In 1903, the first own designed car was presented. During World War I, mainly aircraft engines were manufactured. In the 1920s and 1930s, very luxurious passenger cars were made. Unexpectedly, the production od passenger cars was stopped in 1936. At this time, the production of lorries and armaments for the Italian army was started.
