The roots of the Foden Ldt. goes back to the year 1850. Beginning in 1887, the first locomotive was manufactured. In 1901, the first commercial vehicle with steam drive was made. In 1934, the first lorry with diesel engine entered serial production. Beginning in the early 1930s, the Foden lorries were COE lorries. Lorries with 2, 3 and 4 axles and wheeled tractors with short wheelbase were made.
