Commer Q 4

This Commer Q 4 3 ton lorry had to be up-pulled on a muddy slope by Russian prisoner of war in 1941. Probably, the vehicle originated from the booty of the west campaign. It is a less known fact that a number of Commer Q 4 were supplied to the Soviet Union in 1941/42.

In this photo, one has a better view to the front section of the Commer Q 4. The vehicle belonged to the Luftwaffe.

A large part of the captured Commer Q 4 had commercial wheels with a rear axle with dual tyre arrangement. Only a few Commer Q 4 of later production series with military tyres were captured. Note the non standard engine bonnet on this vehicle.
