The Standard Fahrzeugfabrik GmbH was founded by Wilhelm Gutbrod in Ludwigsburg in 1926. At first motorcycles were made, later also passenger cars and delivery vans with three and four wheels. In the year 1933 the company shifted to Stuttgart-Feuerbach and four years later to Plochingen am Neckar. With the motorcycles, several national and international successes were achieved during races. Special motorcycles for the Wehrmacht were most probably not manufactured. Therefore, the production was almost completely ceased during the war.
