In 1891, the engineer Emil Hermann Nacke founded a machine company in Coswig, Saxony. Beginning in 1900, automobiles and commercial vehicles were made under the brand name Coswiga, later Nacke. Beginning in 1902, omnibuses were made. During World War I, lorries were made for the army. Passenger cars were no more produced after the war. The company was concentrated on the manufacture of commercial vehicles. A series of newly constructed lorries was introduced in 1924. Because of financial difficulties, production of commercial vehicles was stopped in 1931.
