In 1937, the Magirus L 235 with a payload of 3.5 tons replaced the M 35 and M 37. Altogether 2,070 Exemplars were made until 1940. Only five prototypes were made of the Magirus L 240.
The L 235 was propelled by a 85 HP four-cylinder Deutz diesel engine. The illustrated vehicle belonged to a unit of the Luftwaffe.
This lorry with extra-long platform was based on the omnibus chassis O 235 which was derived from the L 235. The bus chassis was propelled by a stronger six-cylinder engine with a power of 105 HP.
