A simplified Holzfahrerhaus - wooden driver’s cab - was used commencing in 1944. There were three different designs of the sides of the driver’s cab. In the photo, a version with short bevel is visible. In addition, there were versions with a long bevel and with a rounded profile. The illustrated photo was made in November 1944.

The illustrated vehicle in this photo, which was captured by the Allies, has some interesting details. The sides of the driver’s cab are of the rounded design. The Rack for the equipment of the crew and the ammunition was still present while the crew benches were missing. (Photo: NARA)
