The mittlerer Flakkraftwagen [m. gl. Lkw., off. (o)] – medium anti-aircraft motor vehicle on medium cross-country lorry (commercial) – was used as towing vehicle for 3.7 cm AA guns. Outwardly, it was hardly differentiable from a normal m. gl. Lkw., off. (o). The crew benches were centrical arranged in longitudinal direction. The tailgate had a centrical rectangular recess which allowed the folding down of the tailgate while the gun was still trailed.

The Henschel type 33 had a pulling force of 3.5 tons cross-country. On good roads, up to 10 tons was possible. Therefore, sometimes heavier guns were towed. This mittlere Flakkraftwagen was used as towing vehicle for a 10,5 cm Flak 38. The photo was made in Frankfurt-Sossenheim in April 1944.
