About 6,000 exemplars of the slightly larger Hansa 1700 were made from 1934 to 1937. This formerly civilian vehicle had a licence plate of the province Hannover. It was marked as vehicle of the Wehrmacht with a white WH on the left mudguard.
This Hansa 1700 was photographed in Schönberg. A typical distinguishing mark between the smaller Hansa 1100 and the Hansa 1700 were the ventilation dampers. The Hansa 1100 had four and the Hansa 1700 had five.
